How @thecedlife led to The Dog's Table
Cedric came home in 2022 at 8 weeks old. He was so little, yet already on antibiotics for a stomach bug his litter had contracted. The antibiotics wrecked his gut, and he couldn't hold down his kibble.
We started feeding him home-cooked food, but the lack of resources made it difficult to do it on our own. We tried nutrition calculators and dog food formulators, but after finding mistake after mistake in the leading ones, we had to build our own. Today, we have the most comprehensive nutrition calculator for homemade dog food, which we used to formulate the balanced recipes in this book.
Comments on social media showed us that many people were confused about what dogs can or should eat. Fueled by all the interest, we dug deep into the research on dog health and nutrition. By the time Edith came home in 2023, we fed her our homemade food on day one. She was swollen, stressed, and her coat was dull, but not for long. After switching her to real food, her digestion improved, and within weeks, her coat began to shine.
The Dog's Table is the book we wish we had when Cedric first came home. We hope you love it!
